When taking "nibbles" from side walls during the process of cutting ovals, pointed bits tend to take the path of least resistance and lean slightly away from the cut. When taking finer cuts associated with drilling ovals, Flat-tipped Bits are less prone to this very small amount of drill bit "drifting.”
We occasionally have 1/2" Straight Shank End Mills available in inventory but generally these items are special orders. Since we do not manufacture them, there is potential for a significant wait between order and delivery. When they are not in inventory, any orders for these items will need to take place through an email or phone call.
