Applying Ball Cleaners and Polishes to Bowling Balls Using Your Ballspinner.
Vise Inserts manufactures 2 different Ball Cleaners and 3 different Ball Polishes, all of which are specifically formulated to be easily understood and how to use them.
We have two different types of Ball Cleaners both of which have identical chemistry. Our Liquid Cleaner is packaged in either 8-ounce and 32-ounce spray bottles, while our Foamy Cleaner is packaged in 8-ounce bottles with a Foaming Pump Applicator. One works just as well as the other, so it is just a matter of your preferred way to get it on the ball.
Vise’s line of polishes consists of Vise Compound, Vise Polish, and Vise Slip Agent which are available in 8 ounce and 32-ounce bottles.
Vise Compound is the first step in polishing a bowling ball. It offers the greatest hook potential of all our polishes; it has the earliest possible breakpoint and is the least angular of the three. Once you roll your ball, if you need more length, proceed to Vise Ball Polish.
Vise Ball Polish gets your ball cleanly through the heads and offers a good reaction in the back end. This will give you greater angular movement at the breakpoint. Again, once you roll the ball, if you need more length then proceed to Vise Slip Agent.
Vise Slip Agent will provide you with the greatest possible length and the most angular breakpoint of any of our polishes.
Once you have your coverstock adjusted on the spinner to
your preferred grit equivalent and you wish to apply ball polish, you should do
so in the following manner.
Step 1: Apply Vise Compound, roll the ball and determine if you
need more length. If you are satisfied with this reaction, you are finished. If
not, proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Apply Vise Ball Polish, roll the ball and determine if you need more length. If you are satisfied with this reaction, you are finished. If not, proceed to Stepp 3.
Step 3: Apply Vise Slip Agent, the final step in our system. For any bowler desiring the greatest possible length. Excellent for High-Rev style bowlers, as well as senior and junior bowlers who have a “strong” hand position but with slower balls speeds.
By following these steps, you can be reasonably confident in your ability to recreate the look you desire, each time you adjust the ball’s coverstock.
Type 1 style bowlers (Rev-Rate Dominant) will want to use Vise Ball Polish or Vise Slip Agent Ball Polish. Depending on lane conditions (Starter Kit for Style 1 Bowlers).
Type 2 style bowlers (Slightly Rev-Rate Dominant) will want to use Vise Ball Polish on typical lane conditions and Vise Slip Agent on dryer lane conditions. (Starter Kit for Style 2 Bowlers).
Type 3 style bowlers (Rev-Rate / Ball Speed matches) can use any of our Polishes. Just pick the one that gives you the best look on a particular lane condition. (Starter Kit for Style 3 Bowlers).
Type 4 style Bowlers (Ball Speed slightly dominates Rev-Rate) should not generally need any polish. But if the lane conditions are extremely dry you may want to use Compound. It is very likely that this player would ever want to consider Vise Ball Polish or Vise Slip Agent. (Starter Kit for Style 4 Bowlers).
Type 5 style Bowlers (Ball Speed greatly dominates Rev-Rate) most likely should never consider using any ball polishes. This style player needs the most friction possible and polish will only provide skid. (Starter Kit for Style 5 Bowlers).
Vise Ball Cleaners: You will not find a better ball cleaner available than Vise Bowling Ball Liquid Cleaner unless you are using Vise Bowling Ball Foam Cleaner. Both Cleaner breaks- down lane oil from the ball’s surface so it may be easily wiped away with a clean towel. It is also very good at removing belt marks.
Clean your ball after each set with Vise Bowling Ball Cleaner. Don’t simply put the ball in your locker where it will pull absorbed lane oil deeper into the coverstock. You can easily prove this out with you with Bowling Ball Revivor. There is generally a lot of lane oil pulled out of a ball that is put away without cleaning. Much more so than balls that are put away after cleaning with Vise Ball Cleaner.
The Foaming application will stay longer where you put it longer and the liquid cleaner follows the direction of gravity quicker and rolls toward the bottom of the ball.
Vise Foaming Ball Cleaner is available in 8-ounce bottles
with pumping dispenser.
Vise Liquide Ball Cleaner is available 8 ounce and 32-ounce bottles with spray
nozzles.
