Pro Shop Training Classes

We usually have two classes per year: one in April or May and the other one in November.

The cost for our classes is 995.00 for the first person from the same pro shop. If additional attendees from the same pro shop are to attend the same class, the cost for each additional student is 500.00. Lodging, meals and transportation is the responsibility of the attendee. We do not allow non-paying students to "audit" the class. Please see the questions below about buying a new mill.

All classes are held in our manufacturing facility at 250 N Main Street, Jacobus, PA, 17407.

The classes take place over a period of 4 days and 3 evenings.

You need to bring at least one of your bowling balls and a pair of shoes. We will spend a lot of time on the lanes, as well as the classroom and pro shop.

The closest airports are both about an hour drive away. Baltimore/DC Airport is probably the most convenient with the better airfares but you can aslo arrive through Hershey, PA.

We do secure the necessary number of rooms from area lodging facilities at discounted rates but payment for your lodging is your responsibility. We provide some lunches but for the most part meals are your responsibility.

We are quite proud of our classroom. We turn a large portion of our factory into the "World's Largest Operation Pro Shop." One end of the room has adequate tables and seating with head table and projectors for the instructors. The other end of the classroom is filled with eight Innovative mills featuring both PowerVac Jigs and New Standard Jigs. There are work tables for each mill that are fully equipped with all the necessary hand tools, scales, quarter scales, Armadillos, pitch gauges and span gauges. Other work areas are set aside for ball plugging, surface work with Haus Machines, ball spinners, polishes, cleaners, revivors and weight scales. If you haven't ever seen 50 or more balls drilled in two hours or less, you are in for a treat.

The April or May class is sponsored by Storm, Rotogrip, Vise and Innovative Bowling Products. The November class is sponsored by Brunswick, Radical, DV8, Vise and Innovative Bowling Products.

At the end of the class, you will receive certifications from each of the class's sponsors.

Regardless of your current level of pro shop knowledge, you will learn a great deal of information. We have had complete novices working along side very experienced operators and all gain a great deal from attending our classes. To make sure that everyone gets the attention they need during the class, is why we have so many teaching assistants on hand for the duration of the classes. Even if you have never drilled a bowling ball before, you have no need for concern because you will leave our class as a ball driller.

Regardless of your current level of pro shop knowledge, you will learn a great deal of information. We have had complete novices working along side very experienced operators and they all gain a great deal from attending our classes. The experienced drillers probably won't need a lot of personal attention but to make sure that everyone gets the attention they need during the class, is why we have so many teaching assistants on hand for the duration of the classes.

The teaching staff has remained fairly stable throughout the years. Generally for the Storm class we expect to see Hank Boomershine as the lead instructor and his assistant instructors are Mike Luango, Mickey Luango, Ralph Sloan, John Jameson and Todd Porter. For the November class we expect to see Mo Pinel as the lead instructor and his assistant instructors include Tom Carter, Mark Moon, Kevin Mumpower, Chuck Gardner Jr., John Jameson and Todd Porter.

There is almost too much to cover in this small space: hands on training in Proper Fitting Techniques, Understanding Layout and Layout Techniques, Drilling Techniques, Bowler Profiling and Style Analysis, Bowling Ball Dynamics and Ball Motion study, Ball Surface Prep, Plugging and Color Match, Coaching, Problem Solving, Operating a Pro Shop Business, New USBC Technical and Oil Absorption properties and data, as well as plenty of time on the lanes applying what you have learned.

We always post the dates of the new pro shop class as soon as we have the dates confirmed with the sponsors and instructors. Across the top of our shopping cart pages is a blue ribbon bar with a link to pro shop classes, follow that link to see an informational flyer. Also, in the product categories of our shopping cart, we will add the pro shop class as a product. Just stay in touch with us through our "Contact Us" page or by telephone and we will make sure there is a slot for you, if you wish to come.

If you purchased a new mill from us as either a Mill/Drill Plus Package or as part of a Pro Shop Package, we will waive the 995.00 cost of your tuition. If you have additional attendees coming from the same pro shop, each additional attendee will cost 500.00. This waiver of tuition applies whether you purchase the mill directly from us or through one of our distributors.

If you pay for and attend one of our pro shop classes, then you decide to purchase a new mill from us as either a Mill/Drill Plus Package or as part of a Pro Shop Package, we will discount the price of your new mill by the 995.00 you paid for the cost of your tuition. This discount applies whether you purchase the mill directly from us or through one of our distributors.
